The Mundupalathinkal family, rooted in Kallooppara, maintains a historical record spanning approximately 700 years. Our origins are directly linked to the great Kaliyankal family, recognized as one of the four esteemed Brahmin families who accepted Christianity from Saint Thomas the Apostle in AD 52. This foundational heritage has propelled the family's remarkable expansion; today, the Mundupalathinkal network encompasses 16 established sub-branches with a widespread presence throughout the world.

A towering spiritual figure, the late His Grace Benedict Mar Gregorious (Thangalathil Branch) was the long-standing patron and guiding spirit of the Mundupalathinkal family union. He served with distinction as the Archbishop of Trivandrum for more than four decades, leading the Malankara Syrian Catholic Church until his passing on October 10, 1994. Universally loved and honored, His Grace was known for his charisma and dynamism, involving himself deeply in the developmental activities of the State. He redefined spiritual life by recognizing the profound and necessary role of action and social contribution.

Rev Fr Ignetious OIC, belongs to the Thangalathil branch of Mundupalathinkal family and is the Chief Patron and inspiration behind the family union for more than two decades. He has got Master's degree in Philosophy and Theology. He was awarded Ph.D by the Latteran University. He is currently the president of Kaliyankal Global family too. He is an active participant in all the family activities and under his able leadership the family union has grown in leaps and bounce and was able to initiate many programs to help the needy.
